A&M Industrial was recognized by Affiliated Distributors, along with Spirax Sarco and Milwaukee Valves for the PVF Best Conversion Award for 2011. A&M Industrial partnered with Spirax Sarco and Milwaukee Valves to develop a comprehensive engineering product solution for a major NYC utility company in the aftermath of a catastrophic steam pipe explosion in midtown Manhattan in 2009. The combined efforts of all three companies lead to a safer NYC. A&M Industrial, Spirax Sarco and Milwaukee Valves worked closely with the utility company’s engineering and operations group to collectively design, engineer and manufacture an innovative line of custom products weeks after the accident, and facilitated in the development of the initial, temporary fix, as well as the resulting, final custom design solution.

The goal was clear.  The three companies worked jointly to identify a design for an improved product solution. This design and fabrication process would undoubtedly provide over 1,000 fully assembled units to the customer.

Affiliated Distributors (AD) is a community of independent distributors and manufacturers of PVF, Industrial MRO, Electrical, Safety, Construction, Plumbing, HVAC and janitorial products. A&M Industrial accepted the award at the “Spirit of Independence” Awards Banquet, as a part of the 2011 AD PVF Division’s North American Meeting in November of the 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The banquet recognizes and honors distributors and suppliers who achieved outstanding performance. This is the second time A&M Industrial has been honored by AD with an award. A&M was first honored as a new member in 2001, by winning the prestigious “Affiliate of the Year” in the Industrial Division for critical emergency response efforts in support of a major NYC utility during the restoration of essential service to lower Manhattan in the aftermath of the 9/11 Twin Towers tragedy.
